This CycleHome edition, we revisit a short story that reflects the journey of healing and transformation at Gladiolus Place. It offers a glimpse into a meaningful moment in a Girl’s journey at Gladiolus Place — as she prepares to return home and reflects on the memories that shaped her healing, growth, and self-discovery. Through this story, we highlight our core mission: Every Girl Loved, Every Life Transformed.
Home, Finally
It is bittersweet goodbyes like these that Gladiolus Place works towards, as we forge lasting memories that will linger long after we send every Girl back to a safer, brighter and transformed future.

The Countless Opportunities
I enjoyed cycling outdoors with both my friends and the Staff. To me, CycleHome means having the opportunity to strengthen bonds and build camaraderie among the Girls and Staff.
I am truly grateful to all the CycleHome participants and supporters for giving their time and energy, whether it was cycling alongside us or supporting us in any way they could.
Through cycling, I learned that you do not always have to plan every route. Sometimes, you just have to go with the flow and see where it leads you. Even without realising it, life offers countless opportunities to explore the world around us, a world that some may feel too lazy or even too afraid to discover.

Slowing Down for a While…
I enjoyed cycling with the other residents and the Sisters, as it gave us the chance to truly get to know one another. To me, CycleHome means being able to bond as a group, looking out for each other like family. Whether it was an injury or a loose bike chain, we supported one another. Whenever a problem arose, we worked together to fix it so we could keep moving forward.
On the way home, we rode past beautiful, colourful flowers and stopped to take photos, even capturing the sunset together. After taking in the view, we continued the journey as one team.
Cycling taught me patience and the importance of never leaving anyone behind. No matter how many times we fell or felt like giving up, we got back on our feet and continued, making sure we all reached home safely, together as one.
I am especially grateful to Sis Shannon for being by my side. She listened and spoke with me about my struggles while cycling, and I will always be thankful to have someone who truly cares. To the CycleHome participants and supporters, I would also like to say, “Thank you for cheering and supporting us all the way until the end”.

Who Took Part in CycleHome 2025
“My most memorable CycleHome 2025 moment was cycling and clocking our distance together with the Girls. We had so much fun strolling under the sun, riding along the Kallang Park Connector all the way to Marina and ECP. It was not just about the distance — we truly enjoyed the journey, the bonding, and the simple joy of being outdoors together. If I could sum up my CycleHome experience over the years, it would be about “togetherness” through both good and bad weather. No matter how tired, thirsty, or hungry we felt, we kept going side by side.
It was not always easy, but those shared moments of pushing through made the journey meaningful. In the end, it was never just about the ride, but about being there for each other every step (and pedal) of the way.
I would recommend CycleHome to anyone who enjoys cycling, walking, or running and loves being outdoors, exploring nature and the places around them. It is a great way to do something you genuinely enjoy while also being part of something meaningful — staying active while experiencing a sense of purpose and connection along the way.”

There were many memorable moments but one of the key highlights was witnessing Peter’s individual fundraiser in-person as he cycled Everest’s height on Mt. Faber. It was incredibly encouraging to see the community come together in their own ways for the Girls of GP.
To me, CycleHome means being part of something bigger than myself and that is to support the next generation of women and playing a small part in helping the Girls move toward brighter futures.”

“My first CycleHome experience was truly meaningful. Beyond supporting the Girls of Gladiolus Place on their journey home, I was also able to rally my family to stay active together.
